Who this is

The First Line is a writing craft studio published by Stewart Ferris. It is a public website: there are no user accounts, and we do not ask you to create a profile. The related site is stewartferris.com.

What we collect

A visit counter on each page records that a page was loaded. It stores a running total only — not your name, email, or IP address as a profile.

If you use the opening-line assessment, the sentence you submit, plus the genre, age rating, and optional synopsis, are sent to xAI so the editorial reading can be generated. That text is processed to answer your request. Do not submit personal data about a real person in the form.

Cookies and advertising

Google AdSense may set cookies and collect data about how you use this site in order to show adverts, including interest-based adverts, in line with Google’s privacy policy. You can manage ad personalisation in your Google account settings.
